Rooted In Faith

Our mission at Matthews Christian Library is to provide resources to strengthen your family and faith. All the materials on our shelves are carefully selected to reflect the truth found in God’s Word.

The library sits on ground that was first given to the Matthews United Methodist Church in 1877. Since then, Christ Our Shepherd Ministries has worked to preserve the sanctity of our location through various programs that enrich the community by investing in local families and children.

What We Offer

We offer a wide variety of materials which are available for our patrons to check out: Bible reference materials; adult Christian fiction and classic fiction such as Charles Dickens; resources for homeschool families; level readers; DVDs for children and families; great audio resources for children and adults, including all the Adventures in Odyssey, Jonathan Park, and Your Story Hour; as well as current magazines for adults and children.

We also have resources from a Christian perspective that address many relevant issues facing individuals and families, including educational choices, money management, separation and divorce, single parenting, and death.

There are quiet work areas, computer work stations, and reading nooks for research, study, or relaxing with a good book.
